MISSION STATEMENT

St. Louis amateur boxing mission statement St Louis Amateur Boxing Association INC is a not for profit 501c3 corporation in the state of Missouri for the benefit of promoting Amateur Boxing by providing tournaments that allow amateur boxers to advance to national and international tournaments. We provide a smoke free, clean environment for all of our boxing venues, provide all financial cost to the national Golden Gloves Tournament, Provide necessary clothing to participate in the National Tournament, transportation and lodging.

The Golden Gloves is an amateur boxing tournament that originated in the United States in the 1920s. The tournament is open to amateur boxers who are members of a participating gym and meet certain age and weight requirements. The Golden Gloves is organized into regional, state, and national competitions, with the national tournament being held annually in a different city each year. The tournament features male and female boxers in various weight classes, and the winners of the national tournament are often considered to be among the top amateur boxers in the country. The Golden Gloves has a long history and has produced many notable professional boxers, including Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Oscar De La Hoya.
